Both of these adages require Labour, equipment and materials to carry out the tasks. Aluminium riggers and seats on the boats corrode over time and along with the massive forces exerted by the rowers - these vital pieces of equipment do fail and are expensive to maintain.

Oars need regular painting and maintenance regime.

The Clubs equipment require an extraordinary amount of time, money and effort to maintain.

It's expensive to repair the equipment in The Club, be it boats, oars, trailers, coaching boats, ergometers, they all need maintaining.

Coxbox & rating mechanisms are all very expensive pieces of kit and our sea spray conditions corrode this equipment at a great rate. All very expensive equipment.

To fit out an eight with speakers, wires and amplifier is in the region of $6k with a lifespan, depending on use, of around 2 years.

Coaches also use equipment which is prone to expensive maintenance regimes, be it outboard motor maintenance through to the expensive loudspeakers.

The Club has a fully equipped maintenance shed which is vital to the efficient running of The Club. However, specialist outside contractors are sometimes needed for various aspects of The Clubs maintenance & damage regime.
