Where we would like to see the club complete

Just as in 1963,64 and 1981, The Auckland Rowing Club has a presence on the world stage.

To maintain our club as being one of the most desirable clubs to belong to in the region, we foresee local and international regattas as being necessary to attract and maintain members.

Competing Rowers would enjoy the challenge of representing The ARC at some of the best regattas in the world, being it against our Australian neighbours, or further afield to the UK or USA.

Some of the regattas which The ARC could send crews to would be:

  • Head of The Yarra - Melbourne.
  • Head of The Charles - Boston.
  • Royal Henley - London
  • NSW Championships (or similar)

The costs associated with help sending crews overseas is substantial, not only the cost of travel and accommodation, but the rental of suitable boats and oars whilst there.

To keep up with the latest techniques of rowing, the latest in sport medicine and nutrition, The Club needs to send our Coaches on courses to maintain their professionalism.

Coaches are required to hold boat licences all which cost individual coaches considerable amount of time and costs. We wish to assist with those costs.
